In Virginia it is illegal to transport or relocate wildlife.  Captured animals must be released or killed on site prior to removal. Releasing animals elsewhere often transmits parasites and diseases to otherwise healthy animal populations. There is only a 20% survival rate for relocated wildlife.

We trap beaver, fox, groundhog, opossum, raccoon, skunk, and squirrel. By shooting, we also can remove deer and pigeon. No special landowner permits are required for target animals during the regular hunting/trapping season for that species. At all other times, a landowner obtained Kill Permit is required from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Call them at (540) 899-4169.

We use Hav-A-Hart live traps or our own special snares to trap. Unlike other types of traps, our snares rarely harm a captured animal. The snares are far less dangerous
to children and pets than other types of traps. The snares work similar to a common "choke" chain for dogs. All snares are marked with bright yellow painted stakes. Non-target animals snared are released. Deer stops have been applied to all our snares to help prevent the accidental capture of deer.

We are located 60 miles north of Richmond and 50 miles south of Washington, DC.

Presently we service Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, the city of Fredericksburg and southern Fauquier County.

What we do for you, so you

don't have to:

• We provide all traps, equipment, protective clothing, baits, lures, etc., saving you hundreds of dollars.
   

• We battle mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, chiggers, snakes, briars, stickers, poison ivy, etc.
   

• We risk the exposure to rabies, giardiasis (beaver fever), West Nile virus, Lyme disease, animal/insect bites, etc.
   

• We work in ice, snow, rain, wind, or sweltering heat while you stay comfortable.
   

• We are fully licensed by the state to hunt/trap, and we follow all laws relating to wildlife control.
   

• We make daily trips to check, re-bait, and reset each trap, release non-target animals, euthanize, remove, and provide off-site burial for target animals.

Rates:

Each job is unique. We charge on a "per animal" basis. The rate varies based on the animal species, job distance, time of year, miscellaneous variables unique to your job and the total number of animals taken on the job. We accept payments of cash or checks made payable to Allen Easterly. We will also consider barter. Call us to discuss the cost for your particular job.

Deer Removal Special:

We will remove deer by shooting under special permit at no charge. Excess meat will be donated to the Hunters for the Hungry program.
